Valencia

Trip to Valencia with David’s Coachtrips 8-10.4.19

We left Torrevieja at 08:45 and arrived at Expo Hotel at. 1:00 p.m.. Along the way we had 45 min. coffee break. Before arriving at the hotel we got a half hour sightseeing by the bus driving us around the city streets, and the guide gave us advice concerning the important things we could see and visit.

After checking into the hotel, we went to the Cathedral. We would love to see the Holy Grail. It is one of five copies available, all claim to be originals. First, however, we fixed the ticket to the bell tower and went up 240 steps to the top. There we got a fantastic 360 degree view of the city.

Earphones could be rented in the church, and that way we got to know what we were recommended to see, and in the audio player we heard about the different decorations interior and art work.

The City of Arts and Sciences is at the bottom of the city in a desolate riverbed. With short distances up the river, we experienced fantastic futuristic embankments with a walk. The aquarium Oceanic was very well organized and contained a large and varying amount of fish and sea animals. We didn’t take the time to go into the other buildings, but one can experience Hemisfèric and explore space and science there. You will also find Palau de les Arts, the Palace of Art.

We also chose to see the Mercado Central, a building (opened in 1928) containing a market with hundreds (thousands) of stalls including seafood, fish, vegetables and more.

Also had a pleasant walk in the old part of the city between buildings that are usually 5-6 floors high.

We will be happy to return at some other occasion.
