Harmonica / Munnspill

4-5 years ago we were acquainted with a harmonica player. Not only that, he makes the harmonica too, the best to be accurate. Like most of us he got an harmonica in his infancy, now he’s retired. Could have been retired, I should say, because he makes harmonicas even today. By one occasion in the early 1980s he had the pleasure of holding Sigmund Groven’s harmonica, and he was even allowed to open it and see how it was built. From that day on George started his product development and production, and  he has continued until today. This mean that for many years George has produced Sigmund Groven’s harmonica, quality always improved by the use of intelligence and high technology machines and instruments (such machines used in Norwegian offshore technology). When Tommy Reilly heard Sigmund play his harmonica, also he ordered a Polle (Polle is the trade mark). Wikipedia writes: “Reilly was a good partner for Georg Pollestad, which is one of the world’s foremost harmonica makers and developer of Concert Harmonica Polle. In a letter (1993) from Reilly to Pollestad he wrote that harmonica Polle was of the utmost quality. From then on he only used Polle Concert Harmonica. ”

A few days ago we were favored with a visit by Georg in our Spanish patio in Torrevieja. He brought with him his harmonica, and quite surprisingly he gave my Mrs and myself a nice mini concert. It was a great experience for us. Thank you, George.
